Matol's 25,000 square foot state-of-the-art production facility is the heart of its international manufacturing and quality-control network.

Matol/Km is manufactured at the company's fully-owned plant. With a 1.6 million-bottle capacity per month, it is designed specifically to meet the specialized needs of an herbal-based product. Our manufacturing plant is recognized as a world-class operation - ranked by Ernst & Young as one of the Top 75 Canadian Food and Beverage Processors - that can effectively support the growing demand for Matol's products.

Matol has high pharmaceutical standards and meets the Canadian Good Manufacturing Practices standards for both manufacturing and quality control.

Matol is dedicated to ensuring that every processing step meets required specifications for quality, purity and product integrity on all raw materials and finished goods. Matol products are tested by highly experienced personnel whose disciplines include biochemistry, microbiology, phytochemistry, food and pharmaceutical technology.

In 1991, Matol Botanical International Ltd. decided to regroup all its Quality Control and Research & Development departments under the name of BIOPLANT Research Laboratories Inc.

The new company was formed in order to facilitate the collaboration with outside contributors (governments, universities, researchers, etc...) and thus promote the research in the food, cosmetic and agricultural fields. Bioplant's principal mandate is to ensure that the products distributed by Matol are high quality products. To successfully succeed its new mission Bioplant consists of five major departments:

Administration - manages, supervises, coordinates and supports the other departments.
Agricultural Projects - plans, organizes and supervises the biological culture of Matol's 14 plants.
Phytochemistry - controls the quality of Matol's plant extracts and effects research on the cultures.
Quality Control - within its chemistry & microbiological laboratories, analyzes, controls and ensures the quality of Matol's products.
Research and Development - improves & develops new range of food supplements & cosmetic products for Matol.

Bioplant is responsible for constantly improving the manufacturing process of the Km & Matol products as well ensuring the quality of all Matol products.

Production Department - ensures the manufacturing of the Matol and Km preparation.

Through strict quality control procedures, experienced personnel, and ultra modern technology, Bioplant is able to respond to Matol's constantly increasing demands.
